About Us
They say that nothing worth doing is easy and it is especially true running a sanctuary for community cats that are not adoptable. These cats have come to live here due to behavioral matters, risk of being euthanized, or threatened harm by humans. Now they get to live out the remainder of their lives in peace with shelter, food, adequate vet care and love.
See each of our Sanctuary kitties below!
**(we are still working on getting pictures and bios for all kitties)
Salem
The official poster child of the sanctuary (literally he the cat in our logo!), Salem greets every person that visits the Sanctuary. Did you know that Salem is a cancer survivor? In 2018 Salem had to have his eye removed due to two different types of cancer, he is doing so well and has not had a reoccurrence
Pretty Lady aka Snowball
She is fabulous and she knows it! Rescued from an abandoned home were neighbors were threating to harm the local community cats, Pretty Lady joined the sanctuary and blossomed into a beautiful diva.
UHTRED
Uhtred joined the sanctuary with his sister and brother. They were too old to tame and had no safe place to return to so we at SCCS offered sanctuary to all three.
Sebastian
Sebastian came to us in 2016 when our good friend passed away. He was one of 6. He is a sweet man when he chooses to be but also gives you hard love bites. Sebastian has never wanted to go inside and during treatment he has declined being contained.
Brina
Beautiful Brina came to live here after she had weaned her kittens. She was at risk of being euthanized at the rescue she was in because she is feral. She has blossomed into one well tempered girl that really loves dogs.
Goat
Goat is what I refer to as a porch cat. She has taken residence in one of the cat shelters on our covered porch. Goat lived with goats when she was a baby and after the goats were removed from the field we decided that it would be best to move her here so she had access to clean water and food through the winter months. She lived in a field next to a gas station. She is such a sweet girl and her meows sound like a frog croaking.
